STEAM POWER After School
STEAM POWER After School Program is a non-profit organization that provides full support of 21st Century Skills Education Program. Our lessons are hands-on and project-based built from Common Core Standards. We ask the big question and require students use Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math concepts and skills to solve the problem. We train teachers to use the technology and applications and provide classroom support to schools. The goal is to ensure that all of our kids are participating in the fastest growing educational trend — the integration of science, technology, engineering, art/design, and math — a whole mind way of learning that prepares students for a complex world and the 21st century job market.
STEM + Art = STEAM
STEAM is a movement championed by Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and widely adopted by institutions, corporations and individuals.
The A for Art includes design. A = Art + Design.
What is STEAM
In this climate of economic uncertainty, America is once again turning to innovation as the way to ensure a prosperous future. Yet innovation remains tightly coupled with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math – the STEM subjects. Art + Design are poised to transform our economy in the 21st century just as science and technology did in the last century. We need to add Art + Design to the equation — to transform STEM into STEAM.
